How To Figure Out Your Credit Limit

In talking about your credit limit, the first thing you should know is the actual dollar amount of your limit. Before you can decide if you want more (or need more), you have to actually know where things currently stand. If you are not sure what it is, there are a couple easy ways to check:

– Give your credit card company a phone call – There should be a phone number to call on the back of your card, online, or on your statement. If you give them a call and verify your information, they will be able to tell you your limit right then and there.

– It should be listed on your statement, or when you look at your card online – When checking the paper copy of my statement or looking at it online, there is a summary of my account. That summary usually includes the total balance, the total amount due, the total amount of my limit, and the amount of my available credit. This should be the same for all credit cards.

As you can tell, if you don’t know your balance, it should be pretty easy to figure out. So, if you are not sure about your limit, get on it!
